Guru Nanak College For Women, Charan Kanwal Banga was established in 1969, on the occasion of quincentenary year of Guru Nanak Dev ji. It follows the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji who emphasized the role and importance of women in society by saying "How can a women be degraded who gives birth to kings?" College is situated on Phagwara-Nawanshahar road.

Library is the back bone of any civilized society and heart of any academic institution. The College library has been named as Mata Sulakhni College Library. It has developed into a modern, fully air-conditioned and well stocked library.

The mandate of the library is that no bonafide reader is allowed to be deprived of its rich resources.

The library has more than 27000 books and Apart from this a number of Magazines, Journals and Newspapers subscribed to the needs of the readers. Library and reading room are kept open to all students from 9:00 am to 4: 00 pm on all working days.

It has an open access facility. The entire collection is automated using the web based Library Management Software and all metadata entries are stored there only. All books have been automated with barcode labels. For meritorious and economically weaker students book bank facility is available. The library also provides books to students during the examination time with collection of deposit money.
